Customer Reviews about Rite Aid

I just want to clarify before starting this review off, that the PHARMACY is the only thing I'm complaining about here. The employees in the rest of the store have always been very friendly and helpful, and always ready to provide outstanding customer service. So it is not them that this review is directed at, it's directed at THE PHARMACY. An older gentleman works there. He has short grey hair, is probably in his late 50's, early 60's. His name is Bryan from what I understand. My partner and I have been going to this particular Rite Aid for about 15 months now. We are now going to change without question. This man is extremely rude, has awful customer service, and is extremely unreliable. We needed our meds, and they were some that were desperately needed. The meds were literally needed, as it was a life or death situation. The doctor we go to has made it clear that they have done their part on their end. By this I mean they definitely have sent the proper prescriptions to this Rite Aid location. Yet, EVERY time we went here, they NEVER got the prescriptions right. First they only gave us half of what was required. This was fine, because we just called the other meds in and got them later the same day. However, this happens EVERY time we try to do business with these people. It has happened so many times I've lost count. The worst part about it is, Bryan, the older fellow, is quick to blame the customer and doesn't take responsibility for his poor social skills and lack of customer service. Last night was the last straw. The meds were not all there, AS USUAL. So, since we were out and needed more, we had to call again. However, the pharmacy said we had no refills left. We had only just called and spoke to the doctor to ensure that everything was good on the doctor end. We verified it was, then called Rite Aid back. Not only were we treated very poorly, but we were also passed off from employee to employee, because they: "were busy." This was irritating, but not a huge deal. By the time we spoke to someone who actually knew what they were doing, they told us there was nothing they could do, even though we did our part and desperately needed the meds. They were then argumentative about it. There should be an exception when the prescriptions are needed for life and death situations. This wasn't the case, and they were rude, but finally gave in and said they would fill it for a day. I went in to pick up the meds, and Bryan proceeded to tell me that I made a big deal on the phone about getting the scipts. I told him, yes sir, but it's a life and death situation. He then proceeded to tell me I needed to pay more attention to the "no refill" label on the bottle. After explaining that I had already talked to the doctor, he still argued, and not quietly, but rather loudly, embarrassing me in front of 3-4 customers. I said: "Okay, well can I please just have the meds? I need them." By this point my blood was boiling, and I was just trying to stay calm. He then shoved them in my hands, and I said thanks. I then said how we will be switching to Walgreens Pharmacy after this poor experience. He then yelled: "WELL I CAN'T GIVE YOU THOSE THEN!" and tried to snatch and grab them out of my hand, LITERALLY. I said: "Nope, sorry." Then walked off and talked to the managers up front. It wasn't their fault, but they were very polite, understanding, and informative as to where I could complain. Bryan does not deserve his position. There are many hard-working people out there that would love to take his occupation, and would actually treat customers with dignity and respect. Part of being a good employee is having good customer service. They just lost some good customers. Screw the pharmacy at Rite Aid, off of Marsh in Haslett, MI. If you need your meds and take your health seriously, then please save yourself some trouble and go elsewhere!

Hello I am writing with frustration so big my blood is boiling. You say with Rite Aid its personal. Well today I was treated like my life did not even matter a smidge to you. I had all my prescriptions at Haslett Rite Aid in Haslett Mi for many years. They became more and more difficult to work with as years went on. I started changing pharmacies with a few scrips but never authorized a complete transfer of all scrips at any time. However Rite Aid transferred them all without my permission. I had a prescription for an albuterol inhaler with them or so I thought and I have been a lifetime severe asthmatic since age 2 now 38. I called today to find out my scrip had been transferred to our other pharmacy without my permission. That pharmacy was closed at 6 PM. I asked them to please try to do something as I was completely out of my inhaler I had a really bad day with symptoms they told me there was nothing they could do unless my dr called. We called my dr who called as fast as he could as it was around 8:00 that I started having and attack. My dr called my husband at 8:45 and said he was calling the pharmacy my husband raced up to the pharmacy walked to the "open" counter at 8:58 to hear the pharmacist on the phone with my dr telling him he refused to refill my inhaler even though my dr called because they were closed. Which they were not technically because it was 8:58 and closing was at 9. The pharmacist got off the phone and my husband asked him "was that my dr calling for my wife who is at home not able to breathe" The pharmacist replied yes Im sorry we are closed my husband told him that it was only 8:58 the pharmacist said again that he was closed. The dr ended up having to call in my scrip to yet another pharmacy because of this. I sat there for 1.5 hours unable to breathe because the Haslett Pharmacist did not care one bit what was happening to me even though my dr and myself followed through with contacting them , even though they had transferred my scrip in the first place without my permission. I am considering heavily getting an attorney I know I at least will contact one in the morning to find out my rights. I could have died in the midst of all this. There might not have been time to get to the ER or Urgent Care if my symptoms suddenly spiked. I have 4 children that death would have been on the hands of Rite Aid since the pharmacist decided it was to inconvenient to fill my inhaler prescription even though technically they were still open when my dr called. I want something done about this. I am hoping Rite Aid will seek to do something about this on their own without legal intervention.

  • I have been using them as my pharmacist for over a year and going to the store for random items and they have always been great! Mostly I am complimenting the actual store employees than the pharmacist bc the employees have always been nice and welcoming and managed to engage in small talk every time! I have never had a problem with the pharmacy, they just aren't overly nice or engaging!
